Emission analysis on islands in the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean
For Électricité de France (EDF PEI & EDF SEI), the world’s second largest electricity producer, we implemented a large-scale project to monitor gas and dust emissions on three French overseas islands together with local partners.
Customer: Électricité de France (EDF PEI & EDF SEI); Guadeloupe, Martinique & La Réunion (France) Industry: Power generation Application: Gas analysis, emission monitoring and data management Products: Gas analyzers (LaserCEM), dust monitors with operating units (D-R 320, D-ISC 100) and data management systems (D-EMS 2020) |
Significant cost savings in energy and maintenance
On the French Antilles islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Caribbean as well as on La Réunion in the Indian Ocean, numerous continuous emission monitorings systems (CEMS) from AP2E, a DURAG GROUP company, have been in operation since the end of 2022. The entire package consists of gas analyzers (LaserCEM), dust monitors with operating units (D-R 320 and D-ISC 100) and data management systems (D-EMS 2020). In the extensive project for the customers Électricité de France (EDF PEI & EDF SEI), 41 systems were installed in five plants.
Organizing such a large project is quite challenging and was coordinated by a large project team with specialists from the entire DURAG GROUP. From the order in spring 2021 to the commissioning took about 19 months. All existing analyzers and DAHS were replaced within a very short time in order to keep the loss of measurement data as low as possible (max. five days per site).
In order to support the regional economy and the local workforce, not only the installation was carried out together with experts who are very familiar with the conditions on site. Furthermore, our LaserCEMs are also monitored and maintained by regional experts specially trained by us. The plus points of our CEMS technology are the considerable maintenance and energy savings.
