Continuous emission measurement in sugar factory with coal-fired boiler
A sugar factory in Turkey uses the D-R 909 dust monitor and the D-FL 100 volume flow measuring system from the DURAG GROUP for continuous emission measurement. The measuring devices are used in the stack of a plant with a coal-fired boiler (scrubber type: ESP and wet scrubber). After a smooth installation phase, they were finally commissioned in December 2023.

Continuous measurement of dust and volume flow, even under extreme conditions
The newly developed D-R 909 is designed for extractive, continuous dust measurement in humid and wet flue gases. The device is suitability-tested in accordance with EN 15267 QAL1. The D-FL 100 is used for continuous volume flow measurement, even under extreme operating conditions. Both systems are certified for official emission monitoring.
Longevity and performance of the measuring systems as key success factors
When selecting the measuring system, the customer attached great importance to durability and performance. Previously, the D-R 820 F was used for extractive dust measurement at the plant. "The weak points of the D-R 820 F have been eliminated in the new design of the D-R 909. In addition, the analyzer's sensitive laser structure and low power consumption are other important factors that make it a preferred device. The D-FL 100, in turn, is the most frequently used reference system for flow measurement in Turkey and enjoys a high level of trust among our customers," reports Ertan Aydemir, Department Manager at DURAG GROUP integration partner Set Teknik.
Important step towards establishing the D-R 909 extractive dust monitor in Turkey
With the successful commissioning, the DURAG GROUP and Set Teknik have also completed the first installation of the new D-R 909 in Turkey. "This is an important step towards establishing the next generation of extractive dust monitors from DURAG in the Turkish market. The commissioning, tests, inspections and training of the system have been consistently positive. These are the best prerequisites for further successful D-R 909 and CEMS projects in the region," says Johan Koops, Area Sales Manager at the DURAG GROUP.
