Hamburg, 07.02.2025 - Since the beginning of 2025, the DURAG GROUP has been one of more than 290 members of the Hamburg Renewable Energy Cluster (EEHH). The industry network is aimed at players in the metropolitan region who are active in an industry spectrum that is as diverse as it is promising for the future: The topics range from solar and wind energy to building heating, sector coupling and hydrogen (H2). In addition to professional exchange and regional networking, the EEHH is also concerned with international strategic energy partnerships and contacts with exporting nations.

Specifically, the DURAG GROUP is involved in the EEHH Hydrogen Network. Since 2021, the EEHH has increasingly focused on the growth sector of the green hydrogen economy. In 2025, the EEHH cluster will increasingly focus on its contribution to the Hamburg metropolitan region as a model area for the networked energy transition in Germany. In this context, the segments of the green hydrogen economy and sector coupling will play an even greater role within the network. “Against this background, we are particularly pleased to be able to contribute our H2 expertise and global industry contacts with immediate effect and thus play an active role in the EEHH,” emphasizes Dr. Stephan Kim, Technical Director of the DURAG GROUP.

Since its foundation in the fall of 2010, the EEHH cluster has established itself as the central industry network for future energy systems in the metropolitan region. Its members include renewable energy and hydrogen technology producers, as well as experts in engineering, financial services, logistics, communications, project development, law and utilities. Depending on the project, there is close cooperation with other players in the city, such as the Ministry of Economic and Innovation Affairs, clusters such as Hamburg Aviation e. V., Logistik Initiative Hamburg and Maritimes Cluster Norddeutschland, as well as the project development company Hysolutions.

In addition to regular trade fairs, conferences and other industry meetings, the EEHH organizes specialist workshops and presents the annual German Renewables Award. The EEHH co-organizes major events such as the Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference and commissions studies and industry reports, for example on Hamburg's solar potential. The networking concept is also reflected in regional, national and international cooperations and joint projects.
